Cookie Baking: Choc Chip Cookies :)

Heyy every1,

Today, I thought I would talk about one of my absolute favourite recipes!
American Choc Chip Cookies!!
This recipe is always a success, ALWAYS!
One of the many recipes by Martha Stewart and because the recipe's on the internet I thought I could post it on here too. I'll also put a link to her website on here, she does have some lovely ideas, not all have very good ratings though, just try things out that sound appetising to you and I'm sure it'll be fine! :)

website: http://www.marthastewart.com/344840/soft-and-chewy-chocolate-chip-cookies

The ingredients are measured in Cups, so I'm going to post it in grams and to do this I'll use this converter, so if anyone has any other recipes they need to convert into grams to bake or cook this one is quite good:  http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/531168/cups-to-grams-converter?type=Dry+ingredients&ingredient=225g&cups=0.5&btnSub=Calculate&text=

  • 288 g All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 227 g butter ( I always do 250 g, it's worth it ;) )
  • 112 g granulated sugar
  • 220 g light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 100 g milk chocolate chips (I often do 50 g dark choc and 50 g milk choc)
Gas mark 4 180 °C

The instructions are on the website but all you really need to do is throw it all in an electric mixer (recommended by Martha Stewart herself) , stir in the choc chips, form into small balls, place on tray and then pop them in the hot oven for 8 to 10 mins :)
This recipe was kindly recommended by a family we know from Canada. They came one summer and we went to a fantastic village festival and when we came home we watched some episodes of Miranda while eating these exquisite Cookies :) We also put some smarties on top of the squidgy dough  before we put the two trays in the oven, but that was the only time I've done that. It's not necessary.

Ever since then I made these Cookies for friend's birthdays and many other different occasions! I even made a batch last weekend for my boyfriend's family for it was the first time seeing them and I thought it would be something they might enjoy eating.
I had made them the night before at round about midnight, they are nicest when freshly baked though, but I wouldn't have time to make them in the morning Anyways, they did adore them :D That worked out very nicely indeed!

Another time I brought some into school when it was my Birthday and everyone came up to me asking for the recipe and wanting more but sadly there wasn't enough for everyone to have seconds (we are a class of 31!).

They are very sweet, I tried using less sugar but that was a disaster. I'm still thinking about making my own recipe for choc chip cookies just so I might be able to achieve the taste I'm aiming for :)
